CONSUMER ASSIST AND DEBTCON MERGE TO FORM SOUTH AFRICA'S LARGEST
DEBT COUNSELLING ORGANISATION

Consumer Assist and Debtcon from SA's largest debt counselling
organisation (prepaid Consumer Assist - problems call )
Consumer Assist and Debtcon merge to form South Africa's largest
debt counselling organisation Consumer Assist and Debtcon have
merged to form South Africa's largest debt counselling
organisation.

The merger sees Andre Snyman remain CEO of Consumer Assist and
former Debtcon executive, Sean Hefferman head the new legal
department that will add value to Consumer Assist's debt
counselling and financial wellness services.

Debtcon's branches in Gauteng add to Consumer Assist's national footprint of branches.
The new company will be called Consumer Assist.

Debtcon was one of the first debt counselling organisations
formed in terms of the National Credit Act which came into effect
in mid 2007. The following year in October, Consumer Assist was
born and rapidly became the largest and best known debt counselling
company in South Africa.

"This merger adds considerable depth and expertise to Consumer
Assist," Andre Snyman, CEO of Consumer Assist said. "Legal
problems are a persistent challenge for those who are severely
indebted and by having a strong legal department, which the Debtcon
staff now give us, we can now give even better service to consumers
and hone our service offering of financial wellness programmes to
major corporates."
